1. Who is responsible

This website, widget.solutions, is run by Widget d.o.o. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

Company
Widget d.o.o.
Address
Primorska 1B, 51000 Rijeka, Croatia
OIB
22199929937
EU VAT ID
HR22199929937

We have not appointed a data protection officer, because the law does not require one for the kind of work we do. Write to us at the address above with any question about your data.

2. The short version

  • We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this website, and we do not set cookies for visitors.
  • There are no forms on this website. You contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, and you decide what you tell us.
  • A few features load something from Google, but only when you use them: the live map, the Site X-ray scan and, where switched on, live Google reviews.
  • We never sell your data, and we only use it to answer you and to work with you.

3. When you visit the website

Like every website, ours runs on a server. When you open a page, the server automatically records technical data so the website can be delivered and protected from attacks: your IP address, the date and time, the page you asked for, your browser and operating system, and the website you came from.

These server logs are kept by our hosting provider, Hostinger (HOSTINGER, UAB, Švitrigailos str. 34, Vilnius, Lithuania), on servers in Germany and France, for a short time and then deleted. We use them only to keep the website running and secure, and we do not combine them with other data.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. When you contact us

You can reach us by email, phone or WhatsApp. Buttons on the website such as "Email this plan" or "Send us the gaps" only open your own email or WhatsApp app with a message already written, so nothing is sent until you press send yourself.

When you write or call, we receive what you share: usually your name, contact details, company and what you need. We use it to answer you, prepare a quote and, if we work together, to deliver the project and invoice it.

  • Email: handled by our email provider, Proton (Proton AG, Route de la Galaise 32, 1228 Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland). Proton stores the mailbox with zero-access encryption, so not even Proton can read the stored emails.
  • WhatsApp: WhatsApp is run by Meta. Meta processes your messages and metadata under its own privacy policy, which may include transfers outside the EU. If you prefer, email or call us instead.
  • Phone: we do not record calls.

Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before a contract, and the contract itself (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering questions (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

How long we keep it: enquiries that do not lead to a project are deleted within 2 years. Contracts, invoices and related messages are kept as long as Croatian accounting and tax law requires, usually 11 years.

5. Features that use Google

Some features on this website use services from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. When they load, your browser connects to Google, so Google receives your IP address and technical data. Google may transfer data to Google LLC in the United States, which is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Live map
On our homepage, the Google map loads only when you press Show the live map. Until then you see a drawing of the map, and nothing is sent to Google. Legal basis: your consent, given by pressing the button (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Site X-ray
When you scan a website with Site X-ray, your browser sends that website address to Google PageSpeed Insights, which runs the test and returns the results. We do not see or store the address or the results unless you choose to send them to us. Legal basis: your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in offering the tool (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Google reviews
If live Google reviews are switched on, the reviews section loads our rating and the newest public reviews from Google Maps when you scroll to it, and saves them in your browser for 24 hours so they do not load again. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing genuine reviews (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Cookies and browser storage

Our pages do not set cookies for visitors. A few features remember small things in your browser's own storage, such as the cached Google reviews, and nothing of it is sent to us. If you log in to the WordPress admin, which only our team does, WordPress sets the cookies it needs for that.

Read the full details in our cookie policy.

8. Who we share data with

We only share personal data when it is needed, and only with:

  • our hosting and email providers, who store data for us under a data processing agreement,
  • our accountant and tax advisers, for invoices and legal records,
  • authorities, when the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

9. Data outside the EU

We keep data in the EU wherever we can. Our email provider, Proton, is in Switzerland, which the European Commission recognises as giving personal data an adequate level of protection. Where a provider such as Google or Meta transfers data outside the EU, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask what data we hold about you and get a copy,
  • have wrong data corrected,
  • have your data deleted, unless we must keep it by law,
  • limit how we use it,
  • receive it in a common format to take elsewhere,
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interest,
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.

Email info@widget.solutions and we reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm who you are first.

You can also complain to the Croatian data protection authority: Agencija za zaštitu osobnih podataka (AZOP), Selska cesta 136, 10000 Zagreb, azop.hr.

11. How we protect your data

The website uses HTTPS, we keep it and our systems up to date, and only the people who need your data to do their work can see it.

12. Changes to this policy

If we add a new tool or change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top. For bigger changes that affect people we work with, we tell them directly.

Questions about your data? Write to us and we answer within one month, usually much sooner.
